ABOUT
Vessel for ____ is an exhibition curated and organized by the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) students, showcasing personal interpretations of longing, memory, and presence. Each work considers what it means to carry and express these ideas through different artistic approaches.
The exhibition takes place at Aunty's House, a gallery space in Providence, where students have worked together to create a setting that reflects their shared and individual experiences. The themes—Longing and Vessel—serve as a framework for exploring these ideas through various media.
The exhibition features work by June Ahleman, Blythe Armstrong, Selah Brown, Jennie Cao, Julia Ferguson, Alessandra Morabito, Jiho Kim, Danny Liu, Nadine McCall, Margot Peer, Nathan Petree, Camila Salinas, Mika von Oertzen Chang, and Inga Wilhelmy. Each piece contributes to the larger conversation about how we hold onto and express personal and collective memories.
Through painting, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition presents different ways of thinking about vessels—not just as physical objects but as carriers of meaning and emotion. The show invites visitors to engage with these works and reflect on their own experiences with longing and memory.
